KYOTO, Japan (9 November 1998) The next meeting of the WAP (Wireless Application Protocol) Forum is scheduled to take place December 7th-11th in Kyoto, Japan. The WAP Forum invites all interested parties to attend and strongly encourages industry participation at this open meeting.

About 70 companies currently support WAP. These include network operators, manufacturers, infrastructure providers and other telecommunication industry-related companies. WAP Forum membership is open to all industry participants. A membership application form and the Version 1.0 specification are available for download at the WAP Forum Web site (www.wapforum.org).
