TANTAU Wireless Internet Platform to Serve as Basis for Credit Suisse WAP-Brokerage

Credit Suisse service allows customers to order and sell securities by mobile phone in real-time

Customers of youtrade, the online brokerage service of Credit Suisse, now have the ability to conduct their business on the Frankfurt, New York and Zrich Stock Exchanges via WAP-devices. One of the prerequisites for the use of the service is an account in Swiss Francs, US Dollars or Euros at Credit Suisse in Switzerland. The TANTAU Wireless Internet Platform forms the basis for the new service from youtrade.

Austin, Texas / FriedrichsdorfOctober 23, 2000 The approximately 23,000 current registered users of youtrade the online-brokerage system of Credit Suisse can trade securities with their WAP mobile phones directly in real-time on the Frankfurt, Zrich und New York Stock Exchanges. The TANTAU Wireless Internet Platform is the basis for Credit Suisses mobile brokerage system, which offers the same high security standards as the banks online brokerage offering via the Internet.

Credit-Suisse chose TANTAU as the partner for its WAP service because the company was the only provider who could satisfy the banks criteria of scalability, security and reliability and was capable of integrating the system in the set time into the existing infrastructure. One of the strengths of the open system architecture of the TANTAU Wireless Internet Platform is the ease of integration into existing systems. The platform has various interfaces for other back-end applications.

With youtrade on WAP, Credit Suisse is extending its WAP service, which was launched last March. Until now, only stock prices, market information and charts of traded securities on the Zrich, New York, Frankfurt and Milan Stock Exchanges could be accessed. With the new WAP service, all mobile investors can directly and actively intervene in the daily trading of the Stock Exchanges regardless of location and time.

"Following the launch of the stock exchange information service with WAP, we recognized that our customers also wanted to carry out their transaction-based stock exchange business via a mobile device. The only question for us was, which partner do we chose? TANTAU was the ideal choice here; they could extend the WAP-gateway exactly to our requirements and effectively solve the task according to our high security standards, said Carlo Ulrich, IT Project Leader, Credit Suisse.
