The WAP Forum CEO reports directly to the WAP Forum Board of Directors. The CEO interacts extensively with the WAP Forum Chairman, Vice-Chairman and entire Board of Directors, WAP Forum staff, and the individual WAP Forum member representatives.

The WAP Forum's CEO will have general oversight and executive management responsibilities for the overall business, operational and coordination aspects of the WAP Forum. Primary responsibilities include:

• Develop, update, and execute the WAP Forum's multiyear strategic plan and annual business plan
• Develop the Forum's budget for approval by the WAP Forum Board, and manage the Forums activities to that budget
• Manage the operations of the WAP Forum including the supervision of the efforts of all direct or contracted staff
• Work with both members and staff to rapidly develop high quality specifications.
• Establish and develop effective liaisons and enable coordination with other standards and industry bodies to further the interests of the WAP Forum members and the wireless industry
• Work with staff and members alike to ensure that WAP Forum programs and services meet the needs, and maintain high satisfaction among the members.
• Act as the primary WAP Forum spokesperson and manage the public communications programs to assure the forum's story is well received.
• Work in concert with the WAP Forum Board of Directors and Executive Committee to further the goals of WAP Forum worldwide.
• Plan, manage and act at the primary spokesperson at major WAP Forum meetings and press events.
