Dialogue wins Freeserve SMS Services contract

Sheffield: Dialogue today announced that it has won a contract from Freeserve to provide SMS services to its customers. The first to benefit from the new deal will be Freeserve members with WAP mobiles, who can now have their phone automatically configured over the air (OTA) to access the companys WAP content and services portal.

OTA configuration frees customers from having to follow complex set-up instructions and provides customers direct access to Freeserve each time they access the mobile Internet allowing faster and therefore cheaper connection to relevant content. Dialogues solution sends SMS data to authenticate the account and create the appropriate service setting on the phone. OTA provisioning is currently only available on the latest generations of Nokia and Ericsson WAP mobiles, but is set to become a standard option on most new WAP handsets.

Dialogues solution gives us a reliable and fast way of introducing new services, said Simon Cook, Freeserve director of access. We have built our reputation on innovation and by partnering with companies like Dialogue we will continue to lead this market which is constantly looking for the next killer application.

Dialogues revenue generating messaging solutions are based on Envelos the companys hosted mobile Internet messaging service. This platform gives Freeserve instant access to a robust and flexible engine, from which it can offer value-added services and develop a range of offerings such as adding messaging capability to a web site based on the SMS (Short Messaging Service) and WAP (Wireless Access Protocol) standards.
