LPG Innovations forms partnership with wireless application infrastructure provider End2End

End2End builds on LPG ServicePortal to deliver hosted mobile solutions across Europe in largest LPG ServicePortal installation to date

Finnish mobile software company LPG Innovations and wireless application infrastructure provider (WAIP) End2End announced today that they have joined forces to bring solutions to mobile operators across Europe. Among other services, End2End offers hosted solutions for building mobile portals by utilising LPG ServicePortal. The deal with End2End signifies the largest installation of LPG ServicePortal so far.

End2End, formerly Pre-tel, delivers the widest range of comprehensive wirefree e-solutions to mobile operator customers from its network of hosting platforms, thereby enhancing their speed to market, reducing their management burdens and saving them capital cost. End2End provides mobile operators with a full set of back office functionalities, including IP mediation, customer care, service management and security.

LPG ServicePortal, which powers the End2End mobile service, is an infrastructure platform for mobile and Internet services. It combines dynamic service management with high availability and scalability and allows rapid and easy-to-use delivery of services to end-users. End2End also offers LPG Innovations mobile office solution, LPG WAPoffice.

LPG ServicePortal is built specifically for managing mobile services. It differs from other solutions in the way it ensures Quality of Service; service management is based on an intelligent agent technology, which ensures that users are presented only with functioning services. The system identifies which services are functioning and which type of terminal device used, relaying content accordingly. LPG ServicePortal is based on distributed software components, making the End2End system highly and easily scalable.

Our partnership with LPG is an important step in providing our customers with the best possible service, says Peter Langkilde, President of End2End. The LPG service platform fits perfectly into End2Ends open standards platform ensuring flexible, secure solutions for mobile operators. LPG is very knowledgeable when it comes to both relevant technology and the market and its solutions are not only secure and very stable, but also user-friendly.

Partnership 2

With mobile application infrastructure and data centres throughout Europe linked via an IP network to central service management centres, End2End delivers a fully scalable and flexible WAIP platform for e-services. End2End recently secured a USD 110 million investment from Deutsche Bank Venture Partners, and Hewlett-Packard Company and Cisco Systems are the companys strategic partners.

"End2End is building on a business model that creates a whole new kind of value chain for mobile e-services. We see that the AIP model significantly lowers the threshold for adopting mobile solutions. We expect the concept to start gaining momentum quickly, comments Pekka Kelkka, CEO, LPG Innovations.
"This is by far the largest single installation of LPG ServicePortal and constitutes a true test of scalability for our products. End2End provides us with an excellent channel to deliver our solutions for a huge potential subscriber base. Together we can target the largest of markets", Kelkka concludes.
LPG Innovations and End2End were first brought together by the HP Mobile E-Services Bazaar where both companies are active members. Hewlett-Packard supplies the software, server hardware and systems integration for End2Ends mobile e-services platform.
