Initially, LPG WAPoffice will be issued to 200 Ericsson employees. Users will be mainly sales personnel and employees of the recently founded mobile Internet test laboratory, MAI (Mobile Applications Initiative). Ericsson clients will also be given the opportunity to test LPG WAPoffice at the laboratory.

- Electronic mail is by far the most used application of the traditional Internet and LPG WAPoffice allows its use through mobile devices. The need for WAP-based solutions like this is increasing the most in large companies because they want to free their employees from the constraints of place and time when they need to use applications like e-mail, comments Pekka Kelkka, CEO of LPG Innovations.

- LPG Innovations ran the LPG WAPoffice development tests in Ericssons mobile Internet applications test laboratory MAI. We found LPG WAPoffice to be a good practical solution to Ericsson employees in Finland as well. LPG WAPoffice users can employ a WAP phone or other WAP enabled device like Palm Pilot to access the same e-mail system they normally use with their PC or workstation. The mail server can be any standard IMAP or POP3 mail system. The calendar offers a real time connection to the users calendaring system. Users can also add new events as well as delete or modify existing events in their calendars with a WAP device, without the need for separate synchronizing.
