Mobile software and solutions company FreeRein acquires Clarios

Clarios technology to form base of the FreeRein enterprise solution suite

BELLEVUE, Wash. (March 13, 2001)FreeRein today announced it has acquired Seattle-based Clarios, creator of the Managed Messaging Platform. Clarios Managed Messaging Platform fits as a core component for FreeReins mobile solution set that combines aggregated third-party components with FreeRein-owned software and products. This approach offers substantial value to enterprise customersa best-of-breed product set combined with consulting, and professional and managed services to implement customized mobile solutions for enterprise.

The merger gives FreeRein full ownership of Clarios technology, which will form a key module of the FreeRein mobile platform. Specifically, the company will gain Clarios Managed Messaging Platform as the foundation of a family of applications that handle "one-to-many" communications, as well as several mobile platform components including group communications, messaging personalization, and other messaging capabilities.

"Clarios messaging platform and products fit directly into FreeReins vision for an aggregated mobile platform solution," said Don Davis, FreeReins CEO. "The Managed Messaging Platform is a excellent example of the collaborative wireless technology FreeRein will provide enterprise clients, enabling them to realize the benefits and efficiencies that mobile solutions provide."

Clarios employees will join the FreeRein staff, bringing FreeReins team count to 84.
