Macalla Software Announces UK Expansion

- An Additional 50 People are to be Employed in the UK

London; 9th March 2001; Macalla Software http://www.macalla.com , the leading mobile middleware provider, has announced an expansion in the UK. The company has opened new UK headquarters in Nicholas Lane in the heart of the City of London and plans to employ an additional 50 people in the UK over the next 18 months. This expansion is being undertaken to support the continuing uptake of Macallas Mobility by leading financial institutions in the City.

Commenting on the expansion in the UK, Ian Rosarius (Managing Director, Macalla Software UK) said, "The UK financial services industry has been an early adopter of the new mobile economy. Many of the international financial institutions in the City have learned from their early experiences with the mobile revolution, and are now embarking on a process of evolution. They are seeking exploit the full capabilities of mobile technologies. This is why we are expanding our UK presence."

Macalla Software, which was founded in 1998 and operates its international headquarters out of Dublin, was recently named as Europes number one wireless application provider.
