Kick-off for WAP games

Codemasters & Digital Bridges bring new titles to the wireless Internet

Southam, England & Edinburgh, Scotland. January 2001. Codemasters Ltd. one of the worlds most original and successful developers and publishers of computer and video games, today announced that it would be bringing a number of its unique and innovative games to the mobile Internet in collaboration with Digital Bridges Ltd., world-leaders in the creation and supply of games and entertainment for the mobile Internet.

The first game to be released is LMA Football Quiz. Based on LMA Manager, the best-selling PlayStation football management game, LMA Football Quiz has been developed internally by Codemasters, using Digital Bridges UNITY technology, which ensures the game will have access to the widest possible audience worldwide.

The game is a brain-busting football quiz for one or two players. The one player game is based around a penalty shoot out scenario with correct answers counting as goals. The two-player game is a match challenge with questions and answers being identified as tackles, kicks and goals.

To keep footy fanatics glued to their WAP screens, LMA Football Quiz will be regularly updated and offer new rounds of questions and there are plans to bring a persistent game into play later next year.

LMA Football Quiz is being launched as a pan-European game, with modified and localised versions in English, German, Spanish, French and Italian. In Germany, the games title will also be localised utilising the licensing agreement in place with BDFL for the German edition of LMA Manager 2001.
