AU-SYSTEM IN WAP DEAL WITH ASCOM

Stockholm, Sweden - October 4, 2000 - AU-System, a leading Mobile Internet consultancy, has signed an agreement to deliver WAP browser software and consulting services to Ascom, the Swiss telecommunications group. The AUS WAP Browser will be used in Ascoms residential and business telephones.

The Ascom deal is pioneering in terms of using WAP in telephony systems, says Christer Bjrk, Business Area Manager at AU-System. To my knowledge, Ascom is among the first to use the WAP browser in the fixed telephone network, whereby the telephone becomes an alternative to the PC as a terminal for Internet access.

AU-Systems agreement with Ascom is one of several WAP contracts by the company this year. Samsung has already launched two WAP telephones with the aid of AU-System, and Motorola is currently developing new phones jointly with AU-System. In addition to the browser software, the agreements also include consulting and support services.
