Razorfish Builds World's First Open Mobile Technology Laboratory

DATELINE: NEW YORK/HELSINKI, Finland

Sept. 30, 1999 - Razorfish (NASD:RAZF), a leading provider of Digital Change Management(sm) solutions, today announced the opening of a new Mobile Solutions Laboratory at its Finnish office. The first open and independent laboratory of its kind, the Razorfish facility will showcase various mobile technologies, including Wireless Application Protocol (WAP) and Short Message Service (SMS).

The laboratory will also facilitate testing of applications across platforms, networks and devices in support of industry interoperability. Razorfish partners in the laboratory include Nokia, Ericsson and WAPit. The facility will be open to Razorfish clients and visitors on an appointment-only basis and research will be made available to the public periodically on the Razorfish website.

"Razorfish is pleased to make this significant investment in the Finnish economy and in mobile technology," said Markus Wartiovaara, director of Razorfish's Mobile Solutions Unit in Helsinki.

"Today's investment reinforces our leadership in this rapidly expanding industry. The consolidation of mobile competencies, highly skilled developers and state-of-the-art technology in one centre of excellence will give Razorfish clients a strategic advantage over their competitors."

The ribbon cutting ceremony for the new laboratory on September 29th was attended by numerous business leaders from companies such as Intel, Sonera, Shell, Encyclopaedia Britannica, the Financial Times, Diners Club, the Royal Automobile Club and Astra Finland. The ribbon-cutting ceremony was officiated by Professor Matti Otala, member of the U.S. Parliamentary Task Force for Governing the Internet and Related Technologies. Visitors to the laboratory opening were given a strategic overview of current and future technologies and invited to experiment with several applications. Demonstrations included using mobile phones to make purchases at vending machines, email colleagues, read a children's book downloaded from the Internet, and conduct customer service transactions.
